These are names to put in a bowl, not completed secret assignments. Collect confirmed participants with a Secret Santa sign-up sheet, and use the gift questionnaire separately. If you need partners kept apart, draw names online with exclusions instead; each participant can print their own private card after opening their result.

How to Draw Secret Santa Names From a Hat

  1. Agree the budget and exchange date using the Secret Santa rules. Print exactly one slip for each confirmed participant, including the organizer.
  2. Cut out the slips and fold each the same way so no name shows through. Use the same paper for every slip.
  3. Mix the folded slips in a hat or bowl. Each person draws one and reads it privately.
  4. If someone draws themselves, return that slip, mix the remaining slips, and let them try again. If the only remaining slip is their own, collect every slip and restart the whole draw.
  5. Keep the drawn name private until your agreed reveal. Put the recipient's name on the wrapped gift.

Paper draws can reveal information when slips go back into the bowl, especially in a small group. There is no guaranteed first-try result. This template does not check the final assignments, and extra exclusions may require repeated complete restarts.

Secret Santa Name Slips With Couples

A line such as Alice + Bob or Alice & Bob prints two separate slips. It does not stop Alice from drawing Bob. For couple or household restrictions, use the exclusions guide and online draw, which checks whether your rules can work before producing results.

If two people share a first name, add a surname or initial. The template stops printing when names look duplicated, rather than silently giving someone two slips. Names stay in this tab, are never uploaded, and disappear when you reload.

Secret Santa Template for Letter or A4

The layout has two columns and six rows per full page. Twelve names use one page; twenty names use two pages, with eight slips on the second. That is our layout count, not a limit on group size. Blank printing always gives twelve slips; print extra copies if needed.

Use portrait orientation and your printer's normal scale or Fit to page. Inspect the print preview before cutting. Save as PDF creates a copy on your own device. A PDF containing participant names should stay with the organizer; share blank copies freely, and avoid posting a participant list in a public group.
